Jasper 2009 – 2014 “When Gina Met Jasper”

It was a mixed day; rain one minute and sunshine the next. At Hoo Farm there was a general excitement in the air as Gina and Matt prepared for their Will’s Wild Animal Encounter – a whole snuggly hour with their hand-reared meerkat, Jasper.

Jasper had been hand-reared because the mob (family of meerkats) had rejected him because his parents hadn’t got a great lineage.

He was a funny little creature, chuntering to himself as he sniffed around the picnic table looking for grubs.

To Jasper, the prospect of a grub was very exciting.

Meerkats love grubs!

He allowed Gina to stroke his soft furry back as he wandered around the surface of the picnic table, making little noises of appreciation.  Meerkats aren’t generally tame creatures, but Jasper was a delight; and Gina revelled in being close to such an unusual animal.

After an hour of Jasper’s company, Gina said “Goodbye” to the little guy and wished him well for the future.

Jasper was a right character.

I’m sure he’s sorely missed by everyone at Hoo Farm.

Task : Emotions

We shouldn’t work.

Everything tells us we should not be friends.

When I look at you, I know that we always will be.

I see kindness in your eyes. I see your gentle nature.

You are protective and you are tender.

I may not be able to express my emotions by words … but by the way I touch you … I convey my intent.

Friendship.

Adoration.

Together, we will survive the harsh world in which we live.

It may surprise some, our deep-rooted union.

But to us, it is natural.

We were made for each other.

Your eyes allow me to reach deeply into your soul and I see how deep your feelings for me lie.

My friend.

Our friendship will never fade.

Always and forever.
